Mastering the controllable
Undoubtedly, underwater portrait photography presents a unique set of challenges. While the water's unpredictability is beyond our control with its ever-changing and uncontrollable nature, focusing on the elements within our control significantly increases our chances of capturing remarkable portraits. But that is just half of the journey...
While the initial RAW photos may have captured the essence of our muse and the underwater environment, editing is where the second magic happens. Underwater conditions can often introduce challenges such as colour casts, low contrast, and loss of detail due to light scattering. Editing enables us photographers to refine and enhance the visual elements, elevating the impact and overall aesthetic of the portrait. To express our creative vision and style, adding a personal touch to our final result.
